The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life at Rose Red ed. by Joyce Reardon, Ph.D.

Diary of Ellen...

Summary:

This is the prequel written for Stephen King’s made-for-TV-movie Rose Red. It follows Ellen’s journey from her courtship with John Rimbauer to their year-long honeymoon to their life at Rose Red.

Opinion:

I watched the movie Rose Red about ten years ago, and it has stayed with me. When I eventually bought the DVD, the DVD version of The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer came with it.

So I watched the prequel before reading it. When I found the book, I wanted to see how it compared to the movie. As usual, the book was better and a lot more detailed than the movie.

For those that may be apprehensive about the Stephen King connection, please give the book a chance. The genre I’d classify it under is Thriller, not Horror.
