November is over, and the last month of 2018 is upon us! Most of my monthly goals center around finishing up some writing projects I started and getting to certain points in larger knitting projects.

This video is a little late, but for good reason. Oh, boy, it’s been all NaNo all the time.

Holy cow! I can’t believe 2016 is here already!
In my previous post, Goal Setting and Mind Mapping, I set 11 goals for myself. Projects that I’ve either been meaning to work on or want to accomplish for my side businesses and here is how December went and what I have in store for myself in January.
December’s Monthly Target List:
Journal Prompts Book: work on consolidating all prompts into an Excel spreadsheet
Completed 12-28-2015
Bobbin Lace Workbook: go through current print out and make notes
Completed 12-30-2015
Recipe Book: start listing recipes or find list
Ongoing process, but found started list
Genealogy Workbook: consolidate all notes
Still looking for all my notes
eBay: write ups and pictures of stuff in spare room
6 write ups done, not all stuff in spare room written up
ETSY: finish setting up shop
Completed 12-13-2015
Listed Stitch Markers on shop as well
Amazon: finish setting up seller profile
Completed 12-29-2015

Craft Shows: knit Plum Chutney baby blanket
Completed 12-5-2015
YouTube Channel: categorize videos and put into playlist
Completed 12-13-2015
Blog: create editorial calendar
Completed 12-6-2015
Cooking thru the Book: research equipment and software needed
Consulting more knowledgeable people
January Target List:
Journal Prompts Book:
- Delete duplicates
- Create Chicago citations
- Assign End Note characters
Bobbin Lace Workbook:
- Work through the instructions
Recipe Book:
- Write out 5 recipes
Genealogy Workbook:
- Work out what needs to be written
eBay Shop:
- Continue write ups and pictures
- Type and upload what you have
ETSY:
- List sweater and other specialty items
Amazon:
- Do more seller research
Craft Shows:
- Knit Little Royals baby blanket
YouTube Channel:
- Film 5 videos in January
Blog:
- Brainstorm more post ideas
Cooking thru the Book:
- Make a list of needed equipment and software with the approximate cost
This is what I’ll be up to in the first month of the New Year. December’s list wasn’t so bad, especially when you consider I was out of town for a week and couldn’t bring much with me to work on. So, if I can get 8-9 targets met in December and was making some progress on the remaining ones, January should be just as productive.

Hey everyone! I’m back after a week hiatus to enjoy the Christmas holiday with my in-laws. This post is one I wanted to post earlier this month. It goes into how I’m setting up 2016 to be a very productive year. Enjoy!
***This is NOT a sponsored post. I do NOT own a Passion Planner and have NOT received one for this post.***
In a previous post, I wrote about my admiration for the Passion Planner system and how its structure could be used in my life. This post is about how I used their system, but not their planner.
I sat down and seriously thought about what I wanted to accomplish and all that it entailed. I ended up dividing my 11 potential goals into 3 categories: Writing, Crafts by Cori, and Tales from a Polk County Girl. I’ll be breaking down each categories and what the various goals in them are below. Each goal has the steps branched off of it that I needed to do in order to accomplish them.
My Writing Goals:
*Recipe Book
*Genealogy Pamphlet
*Journal Prompts Book
*Bobbin Lace Workbook
My Crafts by Cori Goals:
*Craft Show Prep
*ETSY shop
*eBay
*Amazon
This goal was more about how I could bring in more business and sell more.
My Tales from a Polk County Girl Goals:
*The Blog
*The YouTube Channel
*Cooking thru the Book (this one is still in stewing mode)
The Passion Planner system is set up where you work on three things related to your goals each month. I couldn’t limit myself this way. I have 11 goals, all which are continually moving forward and need to be worked on. So I deviated from their system at this point.
In order to achieve these goals, I made up a flex binder (not a surprise for regular readers) with each goal and its completion steps.
I, then, made a monthly target/task list, where I took the first step of each goal and wrote it down. My monthly goal is to work through this list, getting as many tasks accomplished as possible. I understand that some tasks may take longer than a month to complete, and I may be expecting too much from myself, but I have a Go Big Or Go Home mindset.
Flex Binder pictures:
The completion steps lists will also double as a progress log. I will be making monthly progress entries so that I know where I am in the project. Here’s what my very first monthly target/task list looks like:
Wish me luck, people!
For those that do mind-map, set goals, and/or use the Passion Planner, I hope you are able to accomplish what you’ve set out to do.
For those who want to set goals and work to accomplish them, good luck. Don’t be afraid to take baby steps. Remember the saying: Rome wasn’t built in a day. (Something I’ll have to remind myself of, no doubt.)
