Deadly Heat by Richard Castle

Deadly Heat

Summary:

Part of the plot from the last book is carried on in Deadly Heat. Nikki is still searching for the man responsible for her mother’s murder and trying to figure out if the big event that had been alluded to was a con just to distract her. Also enter in Rainbow, the latest serial killer to hit NYC, and he’s set his sights on Nikki.

Opinion:

There were a lot a twists and turns in this book. Definitely kept me guessing, but the carried on plot did get tiresome at times.

Frozen Heat by Richard Castle

Frozen Heat

Summary:

A seemingly random crime reopens a cold case and old wounds for Detective Nikki Heat. How does a woman who Nikki does not recognize, but is found stuffed in a suitcase that was stolen from Nikki’s mother’s apartment a decade ago, linked to her mother’s murder?

 Opinion:

This story was all sorts of intrigue and run-around. Because of some characters coming back from the dead, I’m starting to wonder if dead is ever truly dead. Good book. Best so far, in my opinion.

Summary:

A Catholic priest is found murdered in an S & M den, Detective Heat’s crew has a long list of suspects, including their own captain.

Opinion:

Good book. The suspect list had me guessing until the very end. Still reading the books with Nathan Fillion’s voice reading all of Jameson Rook’s lines.

naked heat

Summary:

Nikki Heat gets a taste of fame after Jameson Rook’s article about her is published. When the local gossip columnist is murdered, there seems to be no end of the list of potential suspects. As additional murders starts piling up, Nikki and her team struggle to find the missing connection as their suspects turn into the latest murder victim.

 Opinion:

This is the second book in the Nikki Heat series, based on ABC’s TV show Castle.

Very interesting plot, it kept me guessing up until the reveal. Getting to see self-assured Rook become jealous is always amusing.

Heat Wave by Richard Castle

Summary:

Detective Nikki Heat is called in to investigate an apparent suicide that turns out to be a murder. Shadowed by a journalist, Jameson Rook, Heat has enough on her plate before the case becomes very complicated.

 Opinion:

These books were written to go along with ABC’s TV show Castle. If you’ve seen the TV show, then you’ll spend the whole book with Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic reading the lines of the book characters.

Very fun, kept me interested. Recommended.
