Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James

A murder has taken place on Pemberley grounds. Wickham is the main suspect. Life as Darcy and Elizabeth know it has become chaos. Will this finally rid them of the troublesome Wickham and Lydia?

My summary sucks, but other websites will have better summaries. I was disappointed with this book. Intro chapters regarding the Bennetts and Lizzie’s relationship with Darcy prior to their marriage are written in such a tone that it could be assumed the author was nothing more than a vicious gossip. Colonel Fitzwilliam’s character is quite different than in P&P. He’s almost hateful and scornful in regards to Georgianna. Doesn’t read like Austen. I’ve read fan-fiction that was more genuine. Points of view skip around, not thrilled about that. Very cynical overtones.

Would not recommend this book.
