Grave Secrets by Kathy Reichs

Tempe’s in Guatemala, helping sort victims from the Civil War that have been thrown into mass graves. She gets reassigned to help ID a victim found in a septic tank. This leads to a potential serial killer case involving the ambassador’s daughter. Oh, and Andrew Ryan shows up to complicate things a little.

Kathy Reichs really did go down toGuatemalato search through mass graves. She also helped ID 9/11 victims. The dedication in this book is humbling.

I believe she began writing this book to help work through her feelings, but because the book takes a different turn, it is my opinion, that it became too much to deal with. Not that there is any shame in that.

While I didn’t find this book to be a page-turner, I learned a lot aboutGuatemalaand its horrible Civil War. Recommend.
