Book 1 in The Keys to the Kingdom Series.
Summary:
An asthmatic boy becomes the heir to become the Master of the Lower House. But this inheritance is neither given nor received willingly. In an effort to remove the boy from being the heir, the current Master of the Lower House (Mister Monday) send his dog-faced crones after him. Unfortunately, the evil doesn’t end with just trying to remove the boy from the position. These dog-faced creatures have brought a disease that makes humans go into Sleeping Beauty-like comas. Now, Arthur Penhaligon, must journey through the Lower House to find a cure for this “Sleepy Plague.” And in the process, he shall assume his rightful place as Master of the Lower House. But will Arthur find a cure to bring back to his world and save his loved ones?
Opinion:
This book was confusing in some places; I felt like I needed to take notes. Despite that, I found the book interesting and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I would say that this book is at a Middle School level. There are six other books in the Keys to the Kingdom series. I’m considering finishing the series.
